People fleeing fighting in Sudan’s Jazira state are seeking refuge in the north and east.
The UN says more than 135,000 have been displaced since late last month - when the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces began attacking and raiding villages.
Authorities in the Central Chinese city of Zhengzhou (Jan-jo), have put in place measures to prevent a weekend repeat of a mass bike ride by thousands of students.
But not everyone's made it to a safe place - as Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan reports from Shendi.
