Brazil’s Supreme Court is voting on whether to convict former President Jair Bolsonaro of crimes against democracy. Two out of five judges have already declared him guilty of inciting a coup and encouraging his supporters to storm government buildings in 2023. If convicted, Bolsonaro could face up to 43 years in prison.
