Protesters in the Philippines have taken to the streets, demanding accountability over alleged corruption in flood-control projects. Congressional hearings have heard testimonies from former officials and contractors, pointing fingers at politicians and public works authorities. Investigations uncovered multimillion-dollar “ghost projects” that failed to prevent catastrophic flooding in July.
