In Burkina Faso’s Solenzo region, videos show the bodies of women, children, and elderly Fulani herders, hands tied, lying in blood. Earlier footage reveals government-backed militias rounding up and torturing displaced Fulani, accusing them of supporting armed groups like al-Qaeda. Human Rights Watch identified 58 victims, calling it a reprisal attack. The government denies involvement, blaming armed groups for staging the massacre. Al-Qaeda has since offered protection and revenge for the displaced. The graphic videos are fuelling ethnic tensions, deepening the conflict. Civilians remain trapped in a spiralling humanitarian crisis.
