The Grand Egyptian Museum has officially opened near the pyramids of Giza. The sprawling new museum will house one of the richest collections of antiquities in the world. It took two decades to complete, and cost a billion dollars, mostly through loans. The government is hoping the museum will encourage tourism and boost a struggling economy.
