Israel’s war has devastated Gaza’s education system, leaving classrooms destroyed and lessons held in tents and makeshift shelters.
Teachers struggle to continue lessons under harsh conditions, with trauma and displacement affecting both learning and focus.
Hundreds of schools have been damaged or flattened, including many run by UNRWA.
Thousands of students and teachers have been killed, injured, or forced to flee their homes.
Psychologists say widespread trauma has severely impacted children’s ability to learn.
Some schools now serve as shelters for displaced families, while others are overcrowded.
Many children remain out of school, still waiting for a chance to resume their education.

Al Jazeera’s Ibrahim al-Khalili reports from Gaza’s Deir el-Balah, Palestine.
UNICEF's Tess Ingram told Al Jazeera that Gaza is the world's most dangerous place for a child. She stressed the ceasefire must now deliver life-saving aid and restore education for 650,000 children, a vital step to avoid a lost generation.
