Police in Los Angeles have been out with full force, on the second day of unrest that was sparked by immigration raids and arrests by federal agents.
President Donald Trump says he's deploying 2,000 members of the National Guard to address what he calls “lawlessness” in the city.
He's also said masks will not be allowed at protests.
The biggest demonstrations have been happening overnight in Compton and Paramount, both in South Central LA, where street battles broke out between police and protesters.
Officers have been using tear gas and flashbang grenades to disperse the crowds.
California's governor says the move is “purposefully inflammatory.”
