In central London, anti-austerity protesters have taken to the streets demanding the government shift its priorities from defence to social welfare. Organisers of the ‘Welfare not Warfare’ protest accuse Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s administration of neglecting society’s most vulnerable by slashing welfare and foreign aid budgets in favour of military spending.
